Equine Physiotherapy

Physiotherapy can play a huge part in improving and maintaining the physical and mental health of your horse, regardless of their activity levels.

Physiotherapy can be useful for all horses, whether that be top competition horses, happy hackers or just the retired field companion. Physiotherapy can help improve performance, improve strength and balance, or help them recover from an injury or operation.

Physiotherapists combine clinical palpation with gait analysis to create a unique treatment plan to enhance your horse's performance and overall wellbeing.

Physiotherapy can be beneficial in a range of equine conditions including, but not limited to:

  • Disruption to performance

  • Reduced hind limb engagement

  • Head tilting

  • Teeth grinding

  • Altered behaviour

  • Cold back

  • Difficulty with schooling and jumping exercises

  • Napping, bucking and/or rearing

  • Difficulty during farrier visits

  • Uneven shoe wear

  • Muscle injury and wastage

  • Joint problems - including arthritis and pain/swelling/stiffness in joints

  • Back pain

  • Soft tissue injuries - including tendon and ligament injuries
